About the Chamber

Our Mission

The Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to supporting and building the businesses of Carnation, Washington. By doing that, we strengthen our community.

Carnation (previously Tolt), is a rural western Washington community. Within easy reach of Seattle, Carnation features an abundance of natural beauty and outdoor experiences.

Framed by the Cascade foothills and located where the Tolt and Snoqualmie Rivers meet, Carnation is in one of the most productive agricultural regions in the Northwest. The town was named after the world-famous Carnation Milk Company, a dairy that located in Tolt at Carnation Farms in 1910.

Steve Bussing

Red Pepper Pizzeria
Steve's Bio
After graduating with a bachelors in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University  I worked in the aerospace industries.  Working as a procurement agent I returned to Seattle Pacific to get an MBA.

By the end of 1999, I got the bug to start a construction company building spec houses. Over the next nine years, I built about 60 homes.  The crash of 2007 was a difficult transition time.

After returning to the workforce for a short time I wished to pursue more entrepreneurial opportunities and purchased a pizza place in Mount Lake Terrace.   That was a great learning experience and after 1 ½ years I closed that business and moved the operation to Duvall and opened Red Pepper Pizzeria which began  January of 2010.  Red Pepper continues to be an integral part of the communities of Snoqualmie Valley and in the spring of 2017, a second location was opened in the City of Carnation.

Emma Mason

Local First Liaison
Blake’s Pizzeria and Ice Cream
Emma's Bio
Born and raised in Carnation & Duvall respectively, we have known each other since we were four years old! We became friends in preschool and ended up working together at Blake’s in high school. Though we both moved away for some time after high school– Teanna to pursue other ventures and Emma for college and a few other career trials– we eventually found ourselves drawn back to Blake’s because of our love for food and the true family feeling and community that has always existed there. Outside of work we both love the outdoors, spending time with our pets and families, and–believe it or not, cooking!
